First step
Discuss what you need
You don’t need every answer to begin
Find your bearings.
Develop your next step.
A personal project can raise questions that a general course cannot fully address. Mentoring creates space to discuss your aims, identify where you need support and plan how to move forward.
What we can work through
✓ Turning a broad interest into a workable research question.
✓ Choosing methods that suit a site or dataset.
✓ Thinking critically about an interpretation.
✓ Finding relevant literature and areas for further study.
✓ Structuring your next steps and communicating your work.
How it begins
Tell us where you are.
Your question
Describe what interests you, what you have already tried and where you feel you need help.
A suitable approach
We’ll discuss whether mentoring is a good fit and agree the scope, format and fee before you book.
A practical next step
Use the conversation to clarify your priorities and identify work you can carry forward.
Before you begin
Your questions, answered.
Is mentoring only for experienced researchers?
No. Mentoring can help people who are starting out, as well as those developing a more focused investigation.
Does mentoring mean you carry out the research for me?
Mentoring supports your own learning and decisions. If you need commissioned survey or analysis, contact us so we can discuss the appropriate service.
Is mentoring included in the Training Programme?
Yes, individual mentoring is included in the Training Programme. Standalone mentoring is for those seeking separate, tailored support.
How much does it cost?
Contact us with your aims so we can agree an appropriate scope and fee before you commit.
Your next step
What would you like help with?
Send a short description of your interests or project, your experience and the questions you would like to discuss.
