Introduction
A general introduction to archaeoastronomy, covering a range of astronomical topics and worldwide archaeological sites that relate to celestial objects: from Stonehenge to Polynesia, from the American Southwest to Ancient China. No prior knowledge of astronomy or archaeology needed.

Foundations
This course will teach the fundamental concepts and methods that underlie most archaeoastronomical work. At the end of this weekend you will be able to measure simple architectural features and check whether they align to the sun, as well as understand ~90% of published archaeoastronomical research.

Fieldwork & Analysis
This course will delve deep into the nuances of fieldwork and data analysis. Learn how to overcome the challenges of measuring different types of structures, and how to identify celestial objects that align with your structure. Attendees will be expected to already understand the essential concepts and methods of archaeoastronomy to take full advantage of this course.

History & Theory
The history of archaeoastronomy, its relationship to archaeology and esotericism, and the evolution of its theory are the focus of this course. You will learn everything from antiquarian speculations to the birth of archaeology, from the first use of a computer to assess alignments to the latest interpretations. No prior knowledge of astronomy or archaeology needed.

Advanced Topics
This course will focus on more advanced topics such as lunar standstills, star phasing, planetary alignments, statistical testing, building strong arguments for alignments, and the thorny issue of interpretation.
